For Windows 2000, XP: You must uninstall your
current anti-virus software before installing McAfee VirusScan.
Installation Instructions:
VirusScan (software
download)
- You will see the File Download screen.
- Left-click OPEN to run the software from its
current location on the CD. DO NOT save the file
to your computer.
- Left-click NEXT at the McAfee VirusScan Enterprise
Setup screen.
- Select the PERPETUAL LICENSING option at the
Network Associates Licensing screen because Keene State College
has a Perpetual License Agreement with Network Associates. Select
the "I Accept..." option on the bottom
of the screen in the same way. Left-click the OK button.
- Select TYPICAL INSTALLATION in the Select Setup
Type screen. Left-click Next.
- You should see the Ready To Install screen
next. Left-click the Install button.
- Wait. (Sing the Jeopardy song if you like.) Your computer is
installing McAfee VirusScan. This could take a few minutes depending
on how fast your computer is. A status bar will show the progress
of the file installation.
- When file installation is complete you'll see the FINAL
SET UP screen. If you ARE connected to the Internet
select the UPDATE NOW button to get the latest
McAfee updates and virus definitions. If you are NOT connected
to the Internet then unselect the box with a left-click. Your
computer will perform the update automatically when it is connected
to the Internet.
- Left-click the FINISH button to complete the
installation. If you have chosen to do an AutoUpdate cycle you
will have to wait for the update to finish. Once the Update Finished
message appears left-click the CLOSE button.
- Installation is complete!
Some important things to note: Your software is
pre-configured to automatically update the virus definitions on
a daily basis.
