As
part of the CCA network security effort,
on campus students who use Microsoft Windows programs are required
to download and install Windows critical updates that will
repair security problems in the software. A computer without the
proper updates will fail the CCA validation, and will be directed
to a site where the updates are available for installation.
CCA also verifies if the automatic update feature is set for
the Microsoft software. If the feature is not running when a
student tries to connect to the campus network, CCA will give
a message recommending that students configure the automatic
update settings in Microsoft.
