Each
on campus student is assigned a unique telephone number, voice
mailbox (VMB), and personal billing number (PBN) for long distance
calls; but will share a single telephone with their room mates.
Students should check their VMB on a regular basis because the
College uses the VMB system for emergency messages and announcements.
Students will keep their assigned telephone number throughout their
years of living on campus. Cordless phones are not recommended
for the residence halls because they are susceptible to interference
from other electronics.
Some quick tips for calling are:
- To call a campus telephone number from an on campus phone dial:
- Students – 9+ the four digit extension (ie: 9-1234)
- Faculty/Staff/Departments – 8+ the four digit extension
(ie:8-1234)
- To call an off campus number from an on campus phone:
- To check your voice mailbox (VMB) using an on campus phone:
- dial 8-7777; enter the VMB number (9+your telephone number)
plus the # sign, enter password (the last 4 digits of your
telephone number) plus the # sign and follow the instructions.
